apes and pigs

Say, "Shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that as penalty from Allah ? [It is that of] those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He became angry and made of them apes and pigs and slaves of Taghut. Those are worse in position and further astray from the sound way." Quran 7:166, 2:65, and 5:60. Promoting Understanding of Religious Suffering

fight the people

Muhammad: "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.'" Sahih al-Bukhari: Vol. 1, Book 8, Hadith 387 (one of the two most trusted collections of hadith.) Promoting Understanding of Religious Suffering

Can Allah do anything?

Can Allah do anything? Yes, Allah can do anything. 35:1 Praise be to Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who appointeth the angels messengers having wings two, three and four. He multiplieth in creation what He will. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.

most merciful and forgiving

Many of our religious friends have heard Islam is a religion of peace. Consider the following: Quran Surah 6: Many generations have been destroyed by Allah. 6  Allah will torment those who deny his revelations. 49  Those who disbelieve will be forced to drink boiling water, and will face a painful doom. 70  When nonbelievers die, the angels will deliver to them doom and degradation. 93 Allah chooses to lead some astray, and he lays ignominy on those who disbelieve. 125  Allah will send everyone the Fire, except those he chooses to deliver. 128   Promoting Understanding of Religious Suffering

religious police

There are some changes going on in Saudi Arabia. Saudi women are now allowed to ride bicycles. Also, Saudi women will finally be allowed to drive cars this summer.  Religious police continue to watch public spaces to enforce conservative dress rules, bans on music and alcohol, prayer-time store closures and the mixing of unrelated men and women. Stoning and Islam

Many of our religious friends believe that education helps reduce the harmful effects of Islam. While this seems to have some truth to it based on this Pew survey, it is alarming to see how many Islamic folks still support practices like stoning of apostates (leaving Islam) and people committing adultery. If somebody discards his religion, kill him

Many of our religious friends do not understand that leaving Islam leads to death. Sahih Bukhari : In-book reference / Book 56, Hadith 226 Ali burnt some people and this news reached Ibn `Abbas, who said, "Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the Prophet said, 'Don't punish (anybody) with Allah's Punishment.' No doubt, I would have killed them, for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him .' " Promoting Understanding of Religious Suffering

Hallucination Muhammad flying to heaven with winged horse

Muhammad's flying to heaven with winged horse Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 58, Number 227 hadith Malik bin Sasaa said that Allah's Messenger described to them his Night Journey saying, "While I was lying in Al-Hatim or Al-Hijr, suddenly someone came to me and cut my body open from the throat to the pubic area . The Prophet further said, "He then took out my heart . Then a gold tray of Belief was brought to me and my heart was washed and was filled (with Belief) and then returned to its original place. Then a white animal which was smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey was brought to me." (On this Al-Jarud asked, "Was it the Buraq, O Abu Hamza?" I (i.e. Anas) replied in the affirmative). The Prophet said, "The animal's step (was so wide that it) reached the farthest point within the reach of the animal's sight. I was carried on it, and Gabriel set out with me till we reached the nearest heaven. When he asked for the gate to be o...

Wimmin are Deficient in Intelligence

Many of our Muslim friends either believe can not be as intelligent as men or do not know and accept their own religious writings. Bukhari (6:301) - "[Muhammad] said, 'Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?' They replied in the affirmative. He said, ' This is the deficiency in her intelligence .'" Quran 33.4 Marry your daughter-in-law

Some people may wonder why their muslim neighbors (but only men) have an interest in being married to the wife of an adopted son. The answer is that the Quran permits a man to marry the wife of his adopted son. Allah apparently decided to permit this at the same time that Muhammad married Zaynab, the wife of Muhammad's adopted son. Interesting timing. "Allah has not made for any man two hearts within him; nor has He made your wives whose backs you liken to the backs of your mothers as your mothers, nor has He made those whom you assert to be your sons your real sons; these are the words of your mouths; and Allah speaks the truth and He guides to the way." Qur'an 33:4 It's interesting that the writer needs to include the opinion that Allah speaks the truth.

Quran 33.50 Rape war prisoners

Perhaps we struggle to understand why our Islamic neighbors can justify having sex with prisoners of war. Of course, we speak of muslim men having sex with women prisoners of war . We call it rape , since it is in no meaningful way consensual sex. The opposite (women having sex with men prisoners of war) would be silly, for some reason. The reason is that the Quran offers cover for this behavior: "O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee; and daughters of thy paternal uncles and aunts, and daughters of thy maternal uncles and aunts, who migrated (from Makka) with thee; and any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the Prophet if the Prophet wishes to wed her; this only for thee, and not for the Believers (at large); We know what We have appointed for them as to their wives and the captives whom their right hands possess; in orde...

Saudi Prince and Islamic reform efforts

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman recently made headlines by saying he will try to return his country to “moderate Islam” as part of reform efforts. Though it is unclear what changes this may produce, this is part of a growing trend in the Arab world to use parts of the state-sponsored religious establishment to counter extreme religious ideologies. At least in theory, these types of changes would not be possible in the United States because we have no  state-sponsored religious establishment.
